    - Is the training linked to a business result?
    - Has the current and desired performance been measured and the gap documented
    - Is the training mandatory (for example, to fulfill regulatory compliance)?
    - Is the business unit manager engaged in the outcome of the training?
    - What other influences impact the performance?
  - Who is your audience?
    - Is the audience newer or new performers?
    - Is the audience a group that needs to improve their performance?
    - Is the audience front line, middle level, or top level?
    - Is the audience resistant to or supportive of the training topic?
    - What is the benefit to the audience to improve their performance?
  - What are the desired outcomes of the presentation? What do you want them to do differently?
    - What are the manager's expectations for the learner to transfer the learning back to the job?
    - What are the learner's expectations?
    - How can you link the learning to their real world?
