Develop and delivers written and verbal information that is well organized and clear:
  - Review active listening techniques. Becoming a better listener improves your ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate.
  - Reflect on what skills you need to cultivate to have different conversations.
  - Begin by putting a few simple ideas into practice to create momentum. You will go further and faster if you are intentional about improving your communication skills.

Explain information in a way that is easy to understand:
  - Review your messaging to be sure you are using as few words as possible, regardless of delivery format.
  - Debrief and reflect with a trusted colleague after delivering a message. What were your greatest strengths? Where do you have room to improve?
  - Be precise with your words. Ensure you are clear and succinct with your messaging to be heard and understood.

Ask clarifying questions of the speaker at the most useful time:
  - Think of questions prior to your discussion - great solutions are often a result of great questions. Asking great questions allows you to channel the collective wisdom of the people you work with.
  - Reflect on what factors interfere with or enhance your ability to actively listen.
  - Ensure you understand what your conversation partner is saying, and show that you're paying attention.
